About Us

In December 2017, our little bundle of joy was born, but not without any complications along the way. It was a cold winter evening when we made our way to the hospital. It was a month before our due date so we weren’t expecting for the nurse to tell us “you’re going to be having a baby today.” We thought we were prepared. His room was (almost) complete. We had our hospital bags packed.

What we were not prepared for was the short transition between parent and NICU parent. One minute we were all admiring our new baby, and the next, he had to be rushed to the NICU.

We got to stay in the hospital when there were rooms available, but when they weren’t, we experienced the heartbreak of leaving our baby boy at the NICU when visiting hours were over. There was also ups and downs with him not being able to eat without a feeding tube. And also getting him to gain enough weight to come home with us.

The NICU experience was made bearable by our loving and caring nurses. They gave us wonderful advice, they always greeted us with a smile, and encouraged us to call and check on him while we were away. Our NICU nurses are what kept us afloat during that time and we were forever grateful.

The amount of support we got is what made us want to give that to other NICU parents. We know the experience can bring up a lot of emotions. But having adequate support and resources can help families and their preemie babies thrive.
